So, I didn't update the day of quals...but I passed! I really thought I failed the whole dang time. I was sure of it. My sister was so nice, she got me flowers and a balloon to congratulate me and we went to Cracker Barrel. An egg sandwich and hasbrown casserole was the perfect celebration :)

oral quals
Its the night before and I'm extremely nervous. Stomach in knots. Thank goodness for Lydia talkin me through my own rambling mind and Eric rubbin my belly. I want to get this OVER with. I hope I dont blank out and they discover I'm a fraud who doesn't know anything...that would be unfortunate. I need to sleep now. Update to follow tomorrow...sheesh

summer?
It's May 16th. I have started my summer classes. It's supposedly "summer" now. But how come its 50 degrees out and I need to worry about school more now than earlier in the year. I guess thats how it goes as you get older. But I had a great weekend. Dinner with OMOS girls Friday and Villebilles show, Engagemtn party Saturday and got to hang with the Blakely's (hilarious). Sunday = hangin with some wild animals (Savannah & Lily)...and tigers etc, then family dinner for Bacci1 and Allison's birthdays. So now Monday has arrived and I remember I have to take my oral qualifying exam this Friday...better get to studying ;)

you can't always get what you want...
But I did! Found out today that I've been placed at Central State for my primary P4 site and VA Neuropsych for a supplemental assessment practicum. I am SO excited. The placement at Central State will give me the SMI experience I need (psychosis, personality disorders, suicidality, etc.) Not to mention that as I have talked about before I do not get paid for prac. However! Central State has federal grant and I will be paid $12000 for the year!!! Yayy...then I get to keep the health psych goin by doin the Neuropsych stuff. I am ecstatic. I feel like I just won on Wheel of Fortune! Thanks Pat and Vanna! Holla

Workin for the man
I am officially sick and tired of restaurant work. I mean completely OVER IT. I work but don't make any money. I also just hate being there because I feel like it is such a joke. This is probably not the case in all restaurant work...ours is such a little gem. I would love it if I could find out what my practicum for P4 is but no. I have been checkin my email for over a week since they decided and no one sees a problem with holdin that info hostage...
In happier news, ET turns 23 in less than an hour. This means until November we are only 2 years apart and I feel like less of a cougar. Then I will turn 26 and go back to laughin at him watchin Spongebob and thinkin I'm a cradle robber.
Peace out.

Current thoughts
Today has been a great family day. Easter mass at St. Therese, Papa Weiter's, Dee's, and my mama's. I have eaten a LOT of pasta salad and other good things.
As I have gotten interested in other blogs, I have realized that mine will probably encompass all of me...not just my longing to have the final graduation (that sounds like a metaphor for death, but I just want my doctorate). So, not only will this be covering the trials and tribulations of finishing grad school, but also planning my wedding and living my day-to-day life.
Today I started thinkin about how much I LOVE music. I always thought everyone did, but I have recently come to realize that some people only enjoy music sometimes. I think it is a part of every facet of my life. (If only I had an instrument besides my amazing voice)...I can totally change my mood by changing my playlist. I am also very interested in the music other people love. Maybe I would like it. Or maybe it will tell me a lil more about that person. Do you love The Beatles and Outkast like me? Do you love Metallica? Elvis? Taylor Swift? Wham!? :)
My rambling will subside for now, but I have enjoyed releasing some of the randomness that exists inside this canteloupe that sits on my neck.

April is my new favorite thing.
I am finally updating this thing since I have had some of the greatest things happen. This has been my April so far...
April 1 -Surprise Eric with tinted windows...tricked him into thinking I "borrowed" his car and backed it into something. The look on his face was HILARIOUS when he realized he shouldn't be super pissed at me.
April 2 - Watched my BFF get married. I want to be like her. Calm the whole day. She was gorgeous and the wedding was the most fun I had ever been to!
April 3 - Went to dinner at Spaghetti Factory for anniversary dinner. Eric's cuz Kevin was "taking pics for school" at the waterfront because he is a photography major. We went down to take some pics and Eric proposed...I said Yes! (although it crossed my mind for a split second to say no and see what he would do...he said he would have run away haha).
A couple days of enjoying that news...
This past week- Tues: Set our wedding date (5/12/12) and it turned out to be my favorite Baci's 50th wedding anniversary :)
Wed: Eric got his promotion that we have been waiting on! I am very proud...but also sad that we will have to leave next year and I will set him back a lil.
Thurs: Passed my written qualifying exams!!! YAY! Over that hurdle and I didn't even trip!
SO, overall I am high from good news. April has been great. It feels like everything will be coming together soon. This blog will probably soon feature wedding news, dissertation/internship updates, moving process stuff...Stay tuned. It's getting good!
